Heidi Swapp inspired Card

Hello Friends! I'm still mostly hibernating from the cold here in my craft room! I do love that at least about Winter! Being able to sit and craft comfortably with my space heater on! (and often in my Pyjamas, but we won't get into that!)

I have a card inspired by the amazing Heidi Swapp using some of her, and Pink Paislee, products. Check it out:

I used a white card base and took some awesome Resistable Paper, which has Resist designs perfect for spraying with Colour Shine. I actually used some Faber-Castell Gelatos in different colours and shades. Cut it into a fish-tail for the centre of my card.

Attached some Heidi Swapp Banners to the top and one of the large Resistable Chipboard Butterflies as my main focal point. For my sentiment I used some stickers from two Buzz Word Sticker packs (as well as the heart).

I'm quite happy with how this one came out, I hope you like it too!

Rainbow Camera Card - SMILE!

Hello all, Hope you're doing great and have had a creative weekend!

I have a card featuring some "Amy Tangerine" papers from her colourful "Sketchbook" paper pad.

The camera image and sentiment is one from Inkadinkado, which I heat embossed. Then went over it in lines of colour with my Faber-Castell Gelatos to give this cool rainbow effect to match the rainbow heart background paper. The camera paper to match the image, again all from Amy Tangerine's 'Sketchbook' paper pad.

Here is another simple mini card I did using just the Teal Paisley paper from the same paper pad, where I heat embossed this sentiment and balloon which I believe are both inkadinkado, as well!

I hope you liked these colourful creations, Thanks so much for stopping by!

Three Versions...

Hello all, I hope you all reading this will be getting creative sometime soon!

Today I have not one, or two, but THREE similar yet different cards to share...

First a more vintage inspired creation...

Then a super sunny Amy Tangerine inspired one,
using her Sketchbook line of papers.

and Lastly, a Heidi Swapp inspired one,
using her Serendipity line of papers.

All cards feature the Kaisercraft Vintage Memories Treasure stamp, and I used heat embossing in black, white, and silver to give different effects. I went over each with some new items in my "arsenal"  - FaberCastell Gelatos! It made for a neat effect! I really love how they blend and can't wait to use them more and learn more techniques with them!

I hoped you liked seeing my Three card Versions.

Thank You so much for your blog friendship, it means so much to me!

Washi Wednesday

Hi all, I'm here to share some ideas using Washi Tape as part of The Stamp Spot's Washi Wednesday Sale where all Washi Tape is just $1.50 a roll! Go to The Stamp Spot Blog to find out more details!

I have Two projects to share that I made using Washi Tape... First some Washi Tape Thumb Tack Pins...

All I did was rip a small piece of Tape off the roll and stuck it to the flat head of the tack, pressed it down, snipped around it with my scissors and it made for a simple and cute idea.

My next idea is Washi Tape Magnets! That (hopefully) look like ripped strips of Washi:

All you need to do to make these is to take a flexible flat magnet from the fridge you don't need or want anymore... You know the free ones that you often get in the mail, or from various businesses, and they sit on your fridge for a long time.

Or if you don't have any of those, many craft and dollar stores sell magnetic sheets cheap.

My one was a business card size, and it was very easy to separate the front decal from the magnet back! So I had just a plain white front to stick some Washi Tape down onto.

Then I simply trimmed the Washi, and cut the magnet and Washi into strips.

I snipped the edges to look like torn jagged edged tape, for that ripped Washi effect:

So when I was done I had two functional magnets, that still looked like some funky tape!

These would be great to go around photographs, or kids artwork and awards, grades etc on the refrigerator. Being just the flat rubbery type of magnet, they are only good for light papers, but definitely very useful and pretty to boot!

I hope you liked seeing my Washi Tape makes today, do hop on over to The Stamp Spot if you're interested in their Washi Wednesday Sale.
Thanks for stopping by!

Post-it Note holder from acrylic frame

Good Morning blog friends, I'm here to share with you a nifty idea and tutorial that I did for The Stamp Spot blog. They are so easy and whip up quickly. Also, can fully customized with anything on-hand!  Check them out:

Post it Note holders!

Let me share with you how I made them, so you can make some yourself!

I started by grabbing a small portrait oriented 4x6 (standard photo size) acrylic photo frame and a pack of post it notes from the office supplies shop. The frame was $1 on clearance and post-it note pack was $2, so already this is working out a cheap project!

We will be using the frame so that it is lying flat, and slanting down towards us, so it acts as a great place to jot down on the post-its!

I got out my Heidi Swapp Serendipity papers,
because that is what I wanted to use to decorate the frame

I used yellow papers to match the traditional yellow post-it notes. Some cool zig-zag chevron paper from the collection with other colours lined through, made for some colour difference, so it wasn't just "full on" yellow. I used the brighter, more solid yellow to use as a border, to frame the work.

What I did was cut down the yellow to the exact size of the frame insert, so 3x4 inches. For the chevron paper I cut that just a smidge shorter (5mm or half a centimetre) to give it a nice yellow border all the way around the piece.

I worked out where I wanted my post it notes to go on the frame, and placed just one on the patterned paper, so I knew where I could decorate on it outside of that area;

I think it just gives you a good guide to know that outside of that post it,
is where you can embellish away!

Here is how I embellished mine, used some Alpha Stickers to spell out "Notes" but you could customize it with someones name too. Perhaps a quote for inspiration?
If you have it near the phone put "phone messages" on it.

I also used some Clear Pop Banners to decorate it as well.

You can decorate it with anything you like, just remember that this is the insert for the frame, so you don't want anything big and chunky on it. You want it to remain flat with no dimension so that it fits inside the acrylic slit where the photo normally goes.

If you wanted to use an embellishment that has a bit of chunk to it, like this Chipboard Butterfly... Its best to pop those on the top of the frame... That also gives some unique dimension to the project.

For the Butterfly, because these are mistable and have resist areas on them, I used some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine spray to give it a little colour just to make it pop that bit more, and adhered it to the Top of my frame with some glue-dots.
Also adhered the post it notes onto the top of the frame with glue dots, also.

And Voila, a very simple and affordable gift idea, or altered item for your own home which is functional and USABLE! You've Got to love that!

Here is a closeup of the pink version I did, and using pink post-its to match:

You can embellish these with anything you like, diecuts even a beautifully coloured Stamp Image.

The possibilities are endless with this project, so I hope this inspires you today, and that you might give this one a go yourself! This would be a great gift idea, or something for yourself and your own house. Do link to it below in the comments if you do make one, I would love to see!
