Hello all, I hope you are doing great!
Today I have to share something I've been working on for a couple of days, an altered art piece on canvas. I was inspired to do after seeing fellow blog pal Tracy aka Queenies beautiful piece and wanting to try out an artistic piece using a blank canvas myself!
So I got to work and ultimately just threw caution to the wind and made it up as I went along and here is what came out:-
I basically started out just inking over the canvas with various Distress Inks on a sponge. From Crushed Olive to Peeled Paint. Also adding in some Wild Honey and Mustard Seed. Even did a few little splatters, which added to the aged effect.
I then used a Dylusions stencil called "luscious leaves", positioned it and did it in white at first, then a copper coloured Creative Inspirations Paint, and then a darker brown paint with a bit of copper inspirations paint for added shimmer. This made for a nice shadow effect on the stencil and leaves, almost 3D!
For the quote, I simply used my SCAL2 program and wrote out the quote after I had looked around for a good simple meaningful one for a half a day! Chose two fonts I liked and measured to make sure it would fit in the space and cut it on my cricut!
At first I did sponge over the cut piece to give a nice shadow for the quote. Each letter I also painted over to match, with the word "creative" painted in copper Creative Inspirations shimmer paint to make it pop!
Finally, I just took another dylusions stencil called "Dotted Flowers" and just used the edge flowers with some ink to make subtle flowers on the top and next to the "Everyday" word.
And voilĂ , that was it really!
I would like to enter this into two challenges if I may;
Eclectic Paperie - Get Altered - Using Canvas
and
Creative Inspirations - Inspired By - Case it
Since Tracy/Queenie inspired me to do this!
