Hi all, how are you doing? Another break from blog-land, because things on the home-front have been hectic! My Mother (who you may or may not know, already has an eye condition called Graves Disease) suffered a trauma on her already bad eye last Saturday night that saw her have to go the hospital and seek many doctors and specialist opinions this whole week. Long story short she has to undergo radiation therapy on the eyes, to try and save her eyesight. That all starts on Wednesday next week, and she has to take medication beforehand and wear an eye patch, plus take it easy which she is not used of doing, so she is not feeling the greatest at the moment, as can be expected! But we are positive and hopeful and keeping in good spirits.
I did manage to craft today, a simple card using The Stamp Spots newest sketch challenge for this month:
and here is my card -
This features a Kraftin Kimmie stamp from the "Flirty Fairies" stamp set, coloured with Spectrum Noirs. The papers used are from the 'Everyday Ecclectic' Echo Park paper pad. I went around each orange strip with some Tea Dye distress ink, to make the strips pop with ink shading. Some flowers, and bling, some stickles glitter for her wings, and a kaiser sentiment stamp, finished this simple card.
I hope you liked seeing it, and will join in the sketch challenge this month at The Stamp Spot!
Thanks for looking and commenting, and all of your friendship; it truly means so much to me!

Super sweet card! I think that 'Tea Dye' distress ink is magic...it turns everything into cool-ness! Love it! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Annmaree
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to read about your Mum .. .. our eyesight, I feel, is one of our most precious gifts.
I hope that all goes well with the treatment and I shall be thinking of you all. Well done for staying so positive.
I am pleased to see you have managed to do a bit of crafting alongside all that is going on. That is one beautiful card!
You left a comment on my blog about it being strange that you have a heatwave whilst we have lots of snow! Well we are just starting with a fresh sprinkling now .. .. along with a very cold wind!
Take care Annmaree and pass my love and best wishes on to you Mum please.
